Tip #17: Paint Away Color: When working on a color image, you can use the Paint Brush tool to selectively paint away color to black and white. You can make one portion of your image really stand out. In the Paint Brush Options palette, change the blend mode to Color, and paint away the color. |

Tip #18: Crop Tool - Snap: The Crop Tool wants to snap to the edge of your document, and can interfere with making an exact crop. To get around this, hold down the (PC: Control key) and (Mac: Command key) when you are getting near the edge and you will be able to precisely position the Crop Toll where you want it. |

Tip #19: Getting Rid of Fringe Pixels: Often when you combine multiple images, there will be a bit of fringe around the edges of the composited images. Sometimes you can hide the fringe by going under the Layers menu, under Matting and choosing Defringe. At the dialogue box, choose the default setting; it that doesn't work, Undo, and try Defringe again at a setting of 2. |

Tip #20: Quick Fix for Removing Scratches: To quickly remove scratches or blemishes from a photo, double click on the Blur Tool, and in the Blur Tool Options palette, lower the opacity to 15%, change the mode to Lighten. When you paint over the scratches they will disappear. |

Tip #21: Instant Feather: If you are using the Lasso Tools, and want to set a feather, just press the Return/Enter key and the Feather field in the Options palette will highlight and you can enter or change the value. |

| Quick Tip #23: Two many layer? Put them in layer sets. On the bottom of your layer palette, click the create new layers set, ( looks like a folder) name the new layer set. Now just drag the layers you like in that set. Great for coping a set too. Highlight the set right click and copy |
| Quick Tip #24 Do you have a layer style you like and use a lot? You can save that layer style as a style that will show up in you style palette. In the Blending Options look just under Ok and Cancel look for Save Style. Now to use it just click on it in your styles palette Note: must be in a layer. |
| Quick Tip #25 A quick way to rasterize a shape or text is right click the layer in the layers palette a flyout will come up with rasterize layer. |
| Quick Tip #26 With any of the tools Brush, Eraser, Stamp stamp, etc you can pull up the options by just right clicking the mouse. |
| Quick Tip #27 Notice on the top of the image you will see the image name it will also tell you which layer you are in. Right click on it to the pull up the options such as duplicate, image size, canvas size, image info and page setup for print. |
| Quick Tip # 28 You can make a selection in a layer that will selection only the pixels and not the transparency area of the layer by holdeing the Ctrl key and click the mouse on the layer in the layers palette. |
